MOSCOW, July 9 President of Russia Vladimir Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held talks in the Kremlin.
“Our countries have a very long-standing friendship, good relations that have developed over decades, and this year we celebrate 77 years of establishing diplomatic relations. Today our relations have the character of a special, privileged strategic partnership,” the Russian leader said.
He also noted the development of trade relations. Thus, last year trade turnover between the two countries increased by 66%, and in the first quarter of 2024 it added another 20%.
In addition, the Russian President thanked the Indian Prime Minister for the attention he is paying to the decision Ukrainian crisis peacefully.
Modi, in turn, expressed confidence that Moscow and New Delhi will continue to work together and strengthen all aspects of cooperation. He also confirmed that he discussed the “Ukraine theme” with Putin.
““As your friend, I always tell you that for the bright future of our future generations, peace is mandatory, so we believe that war will not solve, there cannot be a solution (found. — Ed.) through war. <…> “We are ready for any assistance,” said the Indian Prime Minister.
Putin also wished Modi new success in the development of the Indian state and invited him to the summit; BRICS, which will take place in Kazan this fall.
