
MOSCOW, July 9Russia and India are ready to work on launching the Vladivostok-Chennai sea corridor and the North-South international transport corridor. A joint statement following the 22nd Russian-Indian annual summit «Russia-India: A Strong and Expanding Partnership» was published on the Kremlin website.
“The parties share approaches to building a new architecture of stable and efficient transport corridors, pay close attention to the development of promising production and supply chains in the Eurasian space, including in order to implement the Greater Eurasian Space initiative. In this context, the parties expressed their readiness to actively work to increase logistics relations with an emphasis on increasing the capacity of infrastructure, including for the launch of the Vladivostok-Chennai sea corridor and the international transport corridor North-South (ITC), as well as harnessing the potential of the Northern Sea Route (NSR),» the statement said. .
It is emphasized that the parties will continue joint efforts to intensify the use of the North-South corridor in order to reduce the time and cost of cargo transportation, as well as to promote communications in the Eurasian space.
