A child who was in the intensive care unit of the Okhmatdet children's hospital during the missile strike on July 8 has died in Kiev. This was reported by the Minister of Health of Ukraine Viktor Lyashko.
According to him, this is the first victim of the Russian attack among the patients of Okhmatdet. After the missile hit the building of the institution, the boy was transported to one of the Kyiv hospitals. Even before the strike on Okhmatdet, he was in critical condition.
Okhmatdet is the largest children's hospital in Ukraine. The strike hit the building of the toxicology department, where children were undergoing dialysis. Before that, it was known that two adults were killed in the attack on the institution — nephrologist Svetlana Lukyanchuk and a relative of one of the patients. More than 30 people were injured.
The SBU insists that Okhmatdet was hit by a Russian cruise missile X-101. The same conclusion was reached by journalists from Important Stories and Meduza, as well as investigators from Conflict Intelligence Team and Bellingcat, who studied the video of a missile flying into a hospital.
On July 8, the Russian army launched a missile strike on several cities in Ukraine, including Krivoy Rog and Dnipro. In Kyiv, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, 33 people were killed, including five children. More than 120 people were injured.
