NATO plans to deepen cooperation with Asia-Pacific countries

MOSCOW, July 11 NATO stated in its declaration following the summit , which is going to deepen cooperation with countries in the Asia-Pacific region (APR).
«The Indo-Pacific (region — ed.) is important for NATO, given that developments there influence Euro-Atlantic security… We are deepening dialogue to address cross-regional challenges and strengthening our practical cooperation, including through flagship projects in areas of support for Ukraine,” follows from the published text of the declaration.

Plans are noted for meetings of NATO representatives with the leaders of Australia, Japan, South Korea and New Zealand to discuss cooperation. The declaration also notes that China is regarded by the alliance as a security threat, including due to its close relations with Russia.

The 75th anniversary summit of the North Atlantic Alliance is taking place in Washington from Tuesday to Thursday.
