ST. PETERSBURG, July 11 Russia is making every effort to ensure that the new BRICS members effectively integrate into the unification mechanisms, said Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“
"Since this year, the number of participants in our association has increased to 10. Each state is original, carries ancient culture and traditions, and implements its own model of socio-economic and political development. And Russia is making every effort to ensure that the new members of the association effectively integrate into all its multidisciplinary mechanisms,” Putin said.
The tenth BRICS parliamentary forum is taking place on July 11-12 in St. Petersburg.
Russia assumed the chairmanship of BRICS on January 1 of this year. The year began with the accession of new members to the organization — in addition to the Russian Federation, Brazil, India, China and South Africa, it now includes Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the UAE and Saudi Arabia. Russia's BRICS Chairmanship is held under the motto of strengthening multilateralism for equitable global development and security. As part of its chairmanship, the Russian Federation organizes more than 200 political, economic and social events.
