MOSCOW, July 11. The area of the fire in a hard-to-reach forest area near Sudak has increased to 15 hectares, according to the Telegram channel of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
«The area of the fire has increased to 15 hectares. The Mi-8 helicopter made ten water drops,» the post says.
The department clarified that that an airmobile group from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Crimea was also sent to the site.
It is noted that the firefighting is complicated by wind and hot weather. A total of 197 rescuers and 44 pieces of equipment were involved.
An extreme fire danger was declared in Crimea. During the day in the steppe and foothill areas the air temperature reaches 38-40 degrees.
