A resident of Crimea was sentenced to 19 years of maximum security in a treason case.

The Supreme Court of annexed Crimea sentenced a local resident to 19 years in a maximum security colony in a case of high treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code). Mediazona was informed about this by the press service of the court.

The verdict was handed down on July 3. The press service named the surname and initials of the convicted person — V.V. Kotelkov, and also clarified that in addition to the real sentence, the Crimean citizen was sentenced to one and a half years of restriction of freedom. Details of the case were not given in court.

On July 1, the Southern District Military Court sentenced Sevastopol resident Konstantin Soldatov to 16 years in a maximum security colony. He was accused of treason, preparing a terrorist attackand production of explosives, as well as illegal sale of explosive devices on the Internet.

According to the investigation, in July 2023, an employee of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine contacted Soldatov, after which the resident of Sevastopol was recruited and “assumed obligations to move, store weapons and means of a terrorist act — the explosion of railway lines » Soldatov must spend the first three years in prison, the rest in a maximum security colony.
