WASHINGTON, July 12 US President Joe Biden said on Friday , that for now he does not have sufficient reasons for direct negotiations with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, but he is ready to talk with him.
«I don't have a compelling reason to talk to Putin right now. There's not much he's willing to do in terms of making any changes in his behavior… But I'm willing to deal with any world leader,» Biden said at a press conference after the NATO summit in Washington.
He noted that the last time he spoke with Putin was about a treaty on nuclear arms control in space, but these negotiations, according to him, did not go far.
Previously, the Kremlin stated that Putin did not convey any message for Biden through Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who, after his visit to Moscow and Beijing, went to the US capital to participate in the NATO summit.
