CHELYABINSK, July 12 A towing device break during the transportation of a faulty tram caused a collision of trams in Zlatoust, the press service of the Chelyabinsk Region Ministry of Transport reported.
According to the regional traffic police, in the morning in Zlatoust two trams collided, after which one of them moved forward and hit a pedestrian, a woman about 60 years old, she died, and the tram driver and 7 passengers were also injured.
“»According to preliminary data, the collision occurred during transportation of a faulty tram to the depot. The towing device broke and the car crashed into a tram traveling in the same direction,» the report says.
According to the regional Ministry of Health, there were 5 people in the accident people were injured, four of them were hospitalized with injuries of varying severity. Some of the victims with minor injuries went to the emergency room on their own.
On the instructions of the regional governor Alexei Teksler, a regional commission has been created in the regional Ministry of Transport, which will understand the reasons for the incident. It included representatives of the Ministry of Public Security, Mindora, Traffic Police, Prosecutor's Office, ChelyabGET, Zlatoust Administration.
