
ST. PETERSBURG, July 11 USA did not ask to organize a meeting between Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Secretary of State Antony Blinken during the Russian minister’s visit to New York for UN events, Deputy Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov told reporters.
«No, of course. I don’t think that this has any relevance. We have no questions that we could pose to them. All signals necessary in a given situation are communicated through the existing channels. As for the approach with on their side, it is also clear to us. Apparently, we will be in this reality for a long time without any changes,” Ryabkov said, answering the question whether the United States requested a meeting with Lavrov.
The Russian Foreign Ministry previously announced that Lavrov will take part in debates at the UN Security Council on multilateral cooperation and the Middle East on July 16 and 17.
