MOSCOW, July 12 Representatives of the Latvian platform “Fan Fiction Book” (Fikbook) responded in the Telegram channel to the blocking of the resource by Roskomnadzor, calling this event a misunderstanding and promising to correct what had happened.
Previously, Roskomnadzor limited access in Russia to the popular fan fiction site “Fikbook”.
“
"Today Roskomnadzor has limited access to Fikbook on the territory of the Russian Federation. There was a misunderstanding and we are working to correct it. We will be able to provide more information soon, thank you for your support!” — the message says.
Earlier, Roskomnadzor reported that it had repeatedly sent the owners of the Latvian platform “Fan Fiction Book” a demand to remove information promoting non-traditional sexual relationships from the site. However, the owners of the resource platform removed prohibited information from some pages and transferred them to others. As the department warned, if the resource ignores the requirements, Roskomnadzor will limit access to the site, since the LGBT* movement is recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation and is prohibited.
