MOSCOW, July 10 Visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Moscow confirmed that New Delhi considers Russia as its strategic partner, no less important than the United States, said Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Andrei Rudenko.
«He (visit — ed.) once again confirmed that India considers Russia as its strategic partner, the most important partner, no less important than the United States and any other countries… Good prospects have been outlined for the development of cooperation in various fields, primarily in the energy sector. Based on the results of the visit, specific decisions will be made that will allow us to advance, including in the economic sphere,” he said, speaking during a discussion at the Valdai Club.
Rudenko noted the strong development of bilateral relations after 2022, pointing out that the volume of trade between the two countries has increased from 15 billion to 60 billion dollars.
The official visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Russia took place on July 8-9, this was his first trip to the Russian Federation in five years. On Monday he met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in an informal setting in Novo-Ogarevo. On Tuesday, the Prime Minister visited the ATOM pavilion at the Russia exhibition with the head of the Russian Federation, and the leaders also held talks.
