MOSCOW, July 11, Oleg Bogatov. Olympic champion in sports gymnastics Arthur Dalaloyan reported that he received about 500 thousand rubles from the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) as compensation for depriving the International Olympic Committee (IOC) of the opportunity to fully participate in the 2024 Games in Paris.
ROC General Director Vladimir Sengleev said on Thursday that the organization has completed payments to athletes who were deprived of the opportunity to qualify and compete at the Games in France. Russian gymnasts will not compete at the Olympics, with the exception of Angela Bladtseva, who specializes in trampolining.
“»The Russian Olympic Committee made certain payments to the athletes of our team as compensation for the fact that we were deprived of the opportunity to qualify for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. I received the money. About 500 thousand rubles,» Dalaloyan said.
The IOC allowed Russians to participate in the Games, which will be held in Paris from July 26 to August 11, in an individual neutral status, subject to a number of criteria. A special flag and anthem have been approved for neutral athletes. Russians will not be allowed to participate in the parade of athletes at the opening ceremony, and their awards will not be displayed in the medal table. Athletes are checked for compliance with the necessary criteria by a special IOC commission consisting of three people. At the moment, 16 Russian athletes are on the list of those admitted to the Games and accepted the invitation of the IOC.
