A court in Moscow on July 9 arrested Navalnaya in absentia on charges of participation in an extremist community (Part 2 of Article 282.1 of the Criminal Code) .
The press service of the city courts said in a statement that “Yulia Borisovna hid from the preliminary investigation authorities and is therefore on the wanted list.” At the same time, at the time of publication of the news, there was no card in the wanted list of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the name of Yulia Navalnaya.
The press service announced Navalnaya’s arrest in absentia after the end of the working day. There was no information on the website of the Moscow courts about the meeting of the Basmanny Court. That is, information about him was specially hidden so that no one could observe the trial, which by default is being held in open mode.
When Mediazona wrote that there was no card on the site about the arrest of Yulia Navalnaya, she appeared. It says that the meeting took place at 15:00 under the chairmanship of Judge Elena Lenskaya.
Navalnaya commented on the news of the arrest in absentia as follows: “Oh, why won’t there be the usual procedure? A foreign agent, then the opening of a criminal case, then an arrest?! When you write about this, please do not forget to write the main thing: Vladimir Putin is a murderer and a war criminal. His place is in prison, and not somewhere in The Hague, in a cozy cell with a TV, but in Russia — in the same colony and the same 2 by 3 meter cell in which he killed Alexei.”
The court does not disclose the details of the charges against Yulia Navalnaya. After Alexei Navalny was killed in the colony, Yulia announced that she would continue her husband’s work.
