MOSCOW, July 13 A group of 24 former Democratic congressmen sent a letter to US President Joe Biden calling on him to withdraw from the presidential election, Politico, which has obtained the letter, reports.
«President Biden would best serve the country he loves by freeing up the convention delegates who promised to nominate him for a second term… We ask him to make that decision,» the publication quotes an excerpt from the letter.
It is noted that the authors of the letter warned Biden that his participation in the presidential election not only threatens his own defeat and the victory of Republican Donald Trump, but could also undermine the position of Democrats in Congress and local legislative bodies.
