Previously, the Spaniard Artiga was appointed the new head coach of the Khimki football club that entered the RPL.
Artiga replaced Andrei Talalaev in this position, who worked at Khimki since August 2023 and led the team to the RPL, finishing the 2023/24 season in first place in the First League standings. On June 20, Khimki announced Talalaev’s resignation from the post of head coach of the club.

Artiga is 47 years old. Until June 10, he worked in the Moscow “Rodina”, which at the end of the last season took fifth place in the First League. Previously, Artiga worked for more than 10 years in the system of the Spanish Barcelona at the youth and youth levels.
