MOSCOW, July 15 Musical director of the Lenkom Mark Zakharov Theatre, People's Artist of the Russian Federation Sergei Rudnitsky has died at the age of 68, the theatre's Telegram channel reported.
«The musical director of our theater, People's Artist of Russia, winner of theater awards, composer, arranger, and leader of the legendary ensemble «Araks» Sergei Anatolyevich Rudnitsky has passed away… A brilliant musician, permanent participant in many performances, friend and teacher, he will forever remain in our hearts and in the history of our beloved theater. We mourn. Our condolences to the family and loved ones,» the statement said.
Rudnitsky dedicated 50 years to «Lenkom». He is a co-author of Mark Zakharov, the author of music for the performances «The Jester Balakirev», «Va-Bank», «The Seagull», «The Barbarian and the Heretic», «The Marriage», «The Hoax», «Peer Gynt», «Day of the Oprichnik» and others.
Rudnitsky has repeatedly received high praise from colleagues and viewers.
«A member of the Union of Composers of the Russian Federation, Sergei Rudnitsky made a great contribution to the musical and theatrical art of our country. The brilliant musical and vocal level of our theater is the merit of Sergei Anatolyevich Rudnitsky,» the message adds.
