MOSCOW, July 16 The Lada Aura will also be produced in a special, more simplified configuration for taxi services, said company official Sergei Ilyinsky.
“There will be special versions in a slightly more simplified and convenient configuration for use in a taxi,” he said, answering a question about the Lada Aura, adding that the planned production volume of the new product of all trim levels for this year is up to 3 thousand cars. 
The Lada Aura model is created on the Lada Vesta platform. The new premium class product is distinguished by an increased interior space for rear row passengers by 25 centimeters; its interior is made of Russian-made genuine leather. The car is equipped with a 1.8 liter engine producing 122 horsepower and an automatic transmission.
On Monday, Russian President Vladimir Putin arrived at the opening of the northern bypass section of the Tver M-11 Neva highway driving a black Lada Aura. After the trip, the president shared his impressions of it, noting that it was a “good car.”
AvtoVAZ owns production sites in Togliatti and Izhevsk. In mid-May 2022, the French Renault transferred its share in AvtoVAZ (67.69%) to the state ownership of the Russian Federation. Now the brand consists of four families of models: Vesta, Largus, Granta and Niva. Sales of Lada cars last year amounted to 352.6 thousand units (an increase of almost 2 times in annual terms).
