The five-door will have a more brutal image. The brand itself has not yet spoken about the technology. The American media are tipping the crossover to have the same naturally aspirated V6.
Once upon a time, the name Honda Passport was borne by the twin of the Isuzu Rodeo frame SUV. And since 2018, this name belongs to a regular crossover, which, in fact, is a shortened five-seater version of the Honda Pilot model. The current Passport is designed specifically for North America and is manufactured in the USA. The SUV underwent a restyling in 2021. And now the American division of Honda has announced a new generation SUV. By the way, in the States, the Honda Passport is now in a deep “minus”: according to the brand’s statistics, in January-June 2024, sales fell by 31.6% to 16,293 units. For comparison, the same Honda Pilot sold 66,283 units (+19%) over the same period.

In the next generation, the Honda Passport will become more brutal. The design of the body and head optics will be made more strict; hexagonal “cutouts” and a large inscription with the model name will also appear on the front. The teasers show the “off-road” version of TrailSport, its external features — an air intake on the hood and emblems in the orange color that is branded for this design. In addition, the new Passport TrailSport will certainly feature a retuned suspension and additional underbody protection. In general, the company promises its model “genuine off-road capabilities.”

The interior is not illuminated yet. Most likely, like other new Hondas, Passport will receive a new multimedia system with a tablet that will rise above the front panel. The crossover can also be equipped with a full-fledged virtual tidy.

The company did not talk about the technology. American specialized media believe that the Honda Passport will retain the naturally aspirated V6 3.5 petrol engine, although it may be modified. On the previous generation SUV, the engine produces 284 hp. and 355 Nm. The crossover is currently available with a nine-speed automatic transmission, but the new Passport will likely switch to a 10AT. The crossover has all-wheel drive by default.
In the United States, the start of sales of the new generation Honda Passport is scheduled for early 2025. However, the online premiere of the model may well take place this year.
