MOSCOW, July 18 In May, China bought aluminum wire from Russia for a record $3.8 million, according to Chinese customs data.
This is the maximum monthly amount for this product for the entire period of statistics. For comparison: in April, wires were purchased for $742.2 thousand.
Russia is not a regular exporter of aluminum wire to China: over the past two years there were only four months when China bought it.
At the same time, Russia remains the largest supplier of aluminum to China: in the first five months, its exports amounted to approximately $1.6 billion, almost double last year’s level. Malaysia comes second with $1.1 billion, followed by Japan with $468 million.
