MOSCOW, July 18 Extortionists who intimidated their victims in Moscow, the Moscow and Tambov regions by shooting at apartment windows and cars, were accused of banditry, a representative said Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk in her Telegram channel.
“My colleagues from the Main Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Moscow brought charges of banditry against those involved in criminal cases of intentional infliction of harm to health of moderate severity, intentional damage to someone else’s property, extortion, hooliganism and illegal trafficking of weapons,” Volk wrote. 
According to preliminary information, the attackers operated from October 2022 to February last year in Moscow, the Moscow and Tambov regions. They extorted money from local residents and demanded that ownership of a car and part of an apartment be transferred to them.
«At the same time, they threatened to use violence and destroy property. To intimidate, the defendants fired pneumatic weapons at apartment windows and cars. One of the citizens suffered moderate harm to his health,» Volk added.
The representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs clarified that seven people were injured, the damage caused exceeded 12 million rubles.
Three men were given a preventive measure in the form of detention, and a woman was given a recognizance not to leave. A combat revolver, 14 rounds of ammunition, an air rifle and bullets for it, communications equipment and other items of evidentiary value were confiscated from them. The investigation continues.
