MOSCOW, July 17 The Federation Council approved a law on the placement of a gambling zone on the territory of the Yalta seaport at a meeting on Wednesday.
The federal law establishes the possibility of placing a gambling zone within the boundaries of land plots on the territory of the passenger terminal of the seaport of Yalta of the Republic of Crimea, it also clarifies the mechanism for compensating for actual damage and the criteria for selecting land plots for the creation of gambling zones in the event of a change in the boundaries of the gambling zone created on the territory of the Republic of Crimea. 
The Federation Council Committee on Economic Policy noted that this will contribute to the dynamic development of the urban district by creating a favorable investment climate in the field of tourism, will ensure the socio-economic development of the region as a whole, an increase in the standard of living of the population, and will also significantly increase tax revenues to the budget of Crimea.
The law also provides for the vesting of executive authorities of the federal city of Sevastopol with powers to control the distribution of outdoor advertising.
The initiative comes into force on January 1, 2025.
