MOSCOW, July 18. A criminal case of hooliganism was opened based on information about an attack on a State Duma deputy in Samara, the RF Investigative Committee reported on the Telegram channel.
Earlier, State Duma deputy Mikhail Matveev posted several videos on his Telegram channel, which depicted the conflict in Samara, presumably, between migrants and local residents. The deputy said that he tried to stop the conflict, but one of the migrants hit him on the head, as a result of which Matveev received a cut on his scalp.
«According to information about an attack by migrants on a State Duma deputy in Samara, the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Russia opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (hooliganism),» the department said in a statement.
The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Irina Volk, previously reported that they were detained for two participants in the conflict at the scene of the incident. She later added that the police had also caught a third attacker.
“Currently, the police have identified and detained all the participants in the conflict,” Volk added in her Telegram channel.
