The decision of federal television companies to refuse from broadcasting the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris is the right decision, it is not worth supporting and funding the International Olympic Committee (IOC), said Dmitry Svishchev, Chairman of the Sports Committee of the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
Earlier it became known that Russian federal television channels refused to broadcast the 2024 Olympics. Only 15 Russians will go to the Games in five sports: seven tennis players, three representatives of kayaking and canoeing, three cyclists, one representative of trampolining and one swimmer. By the decision of the IOC, they will perform in the capital of France in a neutral status, that is, without the Russian flag and anthem. In addition, they are not eligible to participate in the Athlete's Parade and awards will not appear on the medal table.
