CAIRO, July 20 Israel launched airstrikes on oil storage facilities in the port city of Hodeidah in western Yemen, there are dead and wounded, the Ministry of Health of the government of the Ansar Allah movement (Houthis) said.
A source previously reported that the United States and Great Britain carried out five airstrikes on Houthi positions in Hodeidah. The source added that as a result of the airstrikes, a strong fire started in the fuel tanks in the port of Hodeidah.
“As a result of the Israeli enemy’s airstrikes on oil storage facilities in the port of Hodeidah, there are dead and wounded,” the Houthi Ministry of Health said in a statement, as quoted by the movement-controlled Al TV channel Masirah.

According to media reports, these are the first Israeli airstrikes against the Houthis.

The ruling Ansar Allah movement (Houthis) in northern Yemen, which controls most of the Yemeni Red Sea coast, previously announced its support for Palestine and its intention to attack any ships associated with Israel, calling on other countries to recall their crews from them and not approach them at sea. At the same time, they stated that they do not interfere with freedom of navigation in the region and do not touch the ships of other countries. Amid the attacks, some companies have decided to suspend shipments through the Red Sea.
The United States and its allies are trying to force the Houthis to stop shelling ships off the coast of Yemen in response to the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip.
