MOSCOW, July 20Russian specialists managed to acquire a promising Ukrainian drone capable of accelerating when approaching air defense and electronic warfare zones, said Dmitry Kuzyakin, general director of the Center for Integrated Unmanned Solutions (CDBR).
“We managed to study the Ukrainian kamikaze drone. This is a fundamentally new development of the enemy — this UAV is equipped with a jet engine, which makes it more expensive and reduces its flight range, but there are also advantages, taking into account which we will receive invaluable data on countering this new threat,” — he said. 
Thus, one of the features of the drone is the ability to accelerate sharply when approaching the coverage area of air defense and electronic warfare systems.
“By creating this long-range jet aircraft, the enemy increased the cost and reduced the flight range in order to be able to “step on the gas” at the right moment,” explained Kuzyakin.
He emphasized, that the results of the drone analysis were transferred to the relevant structures
«We have already transferred the data «where it is necessary». The experience is being studied, countermeasures are being developed. Let the enemy not think that we are not aware of its further steps. The analysis of each such «bird» tells us much more about it than any agent or captured drone operator,» the agency's interlocutor concluded.
The Central Design Bureau of the Russian Aerospace Forces deals with the full cycle of issues of combat use of FPV systems: from piloting training and effective use to the production of the drones themselves. Over the years, the company has created a line of combat FPV drones «Joker» and a complex of ground equipment. The latest model to date, the «Joker-10», carries a payload of up to five kilograms and develops a speed of up to 100 kilometers per hour (up to 200 kilometers per hour without a payload). The scientific backbone of the center are MIPT graduates.
