KEMEROVO, July 21 Twenty-five children aged 10 to 12 years, vacationing at the railway sanatorium-preventorium «Magistral» in Kuzbass with signs of intestinal infection, turned to medical assistance, a criminal case was initiated, reports the press service of the SUSK for the Kemerovo region.
With reference to the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office, it was reported that children vacationing at the Magistral railway sanatorium in Kuzbass felt unwell and sought medical help, the West Siberian Transport Prosecutor's Office began an investigation. The department did not specify the reasons for the poor health of the children and did not name the number of sick people. 
The message that a mass illness of children occurred in the Magistral sanatorium-preventorium in Salair was received on Sunday. Based on this fact, investigators of the Investigative Committee for the Kemerovo Region organized a pre-investigation check, as a result of which “a decision was made to initiate a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers).”
«Preliminarily it was established that 25 children aged 10 to 12 years sought medical help with signs of intestinal infection. Doctors examined the victims; their health is currently not in danger. Regional department Rospotrebnadzor is taking measures to suspend the activities of the institution,” the message says.
It is clarified that the investigation will have to find out the nature and source of the disease, as well as whether parents and children visited medical institutions, the health status of children who complained of abdominal pain and the response measures of sanatorium officials when complaints of malaise were received.
