MAGADAN, July 21 Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin called the growth of private investment in the Magadan region in recent years quite good , noted the fulfillment of indicators for the volume of gross regional product and the number of jobs.
The Prime Minister arrived in this region on Sunday on a two-day working trip. The last time he came to Magadan was in August 2020 during a week-long trip to the Far East. 
“I know that over four years the growth of private investment here has increased by one and a half times. These are very good figures. I know that you are trying, doing everything possible to develop the region,” Mishustin said during a meeting with the head of the Magadan region Sergei Nosov.
He asked the governor to talk about the situation in the region’s economy.
“I also know that in terms of jobs, in terms of GRP (gross regional product), all the planned indicators are being met,” the head of the Cabinet added.
According to the governor, the official unemployment rate in the region is 390 people with more than 3.3 thousand available vacancies. 
“This is an indicator that labor is required. This is partly solved through the rotational method of work. But I think that the Magadan region itself is becoming more attractive — also in the fact that wages are growing. If last year the growth was 11%, This year, taking into account the situation on the precious metals market, we expect a 17% increase in wages,” Nosov said.
The head of the Cabinet of Ministers and the governor also discussed issues of infrastructure development, including the pace of creation of a new air terminal complex at Magadan International Airport. Before meeting with the head of the region, Mishustin got acquainted with the progress of construction of the complex.
“I’ll be honest: the speed of work and quality are impressive. If everything goes according to plan, then in December 2024, according to the contractor company, everything should be put into operation,” the prime minister noted at a meeting with the head of the region.
He believes that this will be an “important gateway to Magadan” for residents of the region, for those who come here to work, and for travelers.
«I know that the residents have been waiting for them for a long time. In general, Magadan, the Magadan region is a very beautiful region, rich in its nature, flora, and fauna, and here there are mineral deposits. Everything that the Russian land is famous for is here» , added Mishustin.
