MOSCOW, July 19 Russia has fulfilled all its promises before the African countries, which he gave at the second Russia-Africa summit, said Oleg Ozerov, Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry and head of the secretariat of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum.
“All the promises that our president made at the second summit have been fully fulfilled,” Ozerov said during a discussion organized by the Valdai Discussion Club.
In his opinion, this contrasts with what the West often promises but then fails to deliver.
“These attempts to speak in the language of dictatorship and in a patronizing tone no longer find any understanding among Africans. But the steps that we have taken in relation to truly needy countries have been gratefully accepted,” the ambassador emphasized, noting, that Russia sent large shipments of grain and mineral fertilizers.
«Russian grain came to Burkina Faso, Zimbabwe, the Central African Republic, Mali, Somalia and Eritrea, and fertilizers came to Zimbabwe, Malawi, Kenya, and Nigeria,» Ozerov said.
He added that intensive preparations are now underway for the meeting of foreign ministers in the Russia-Africa format, which will be held in Sochi in the fall.
In March, Ozerov said that in the fall in Sochi, at a two-day meeting of foreign ministers of the Russia-Africa format, they would sum up the interim results after the second Russia-Africa summit, held in the summer of 2023 in St. Petersburg, and also outline the main directions of development .
