MOSCOW, July 22 The Zamoskvoretsky court of Moscow collected about 280 thousand rubles from the singer Lyubov Uspenskaya according to the ten-million dollar claim of Philip Kirkorov, a correspondent reported from the courtroom.
“
"Recognize the information as discrediting the honor and dignity of Kirkorov. <…> Oblige Uspenskaya to refute the information within ten days from the date the decision enters into legal force,” the judge announced the decision.
The court decided to recover from Uspenskaya in favor of Kirkorov 70 thousand rubles in compensation for moral damage, 85 thousand expenses for the services of a representative, 120 thousand for notarization of evidence and six thousand rubles for state duties and postal expenses.
The court also ordered the Zen and VKontakte platforms to remove the video materials within ten days from the date the decision entered into legal force.
The reason for the lawsuit was an interview with Uspenskaya journalist Alena Zhigalova, in which Kirkorov was called a “misogynist.”
The singer demanded to refute all words discrediting his honor and dignity, and also to pay ten million rubles as compensation for moral damage. Later, he announced his intention to reduce the claims by half, since Zhigalova apologized and withdrew from the list of defendants.
In turn, Uspenskaya herself filed a claim against Kirkorov for ten million rubles due to the fact that he, in an interview with the Muz TV channel, TV called the singer a “beggar” who “begs for clothes and gifts.” The Tagansky District Court will begin its consideration in August.
