Putin signed a law on the sale of numismatic coins

MOSCOW, July 22 Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law allowing banks to sell numismatic and commemorative coins made of base metals to citizens at market prices. The corresponding document is posted on the portal for the official publication of legal acts.
The law expands the list of transactions and operations that credit institutions have the right to carry out. It includes in this list transactions with numismatic sets of coins and commemorative coins of the Bank of Russia made of base metals, which are legal tender on the territory of the Russian Federation and are transferred to banks in Goznak souvenir packaging at prices different from the face value and determined by the Central Bank.
This will allow credit institutions to sell such coins at market value. Now, in a similar way, they can sell commemorative coins made of precious metals, and those of non-precious metals — only at face value.

Corresponding changes are being made to the law “On Banks and Banking Activities”.

The new law will come into force on the date of its official publication. Its implementation will help expand the circle of people who can purchase numismatic sets and commemorative coins. After all, both professional collectors and other citizens, for example, tourists will have the opportunity to purchase them in banks.
