Singer Charlotte was added to the Rosfinmonitoring list of “terrorists and extremists”

Singer Eduard Charlotte was included in the list of “terrorists and extremists” of Rosfinmonitoring. Information about this appeared on the website of the federal body.

At the end of May, TASS and RIA Novosti, citing the musician’s father, reported that a new criminal case had been opened against Charlotte.

The telegram channel Shot, close to the security forces, wrote that the musician is accused of inciting hatred based on nationality with the threat of violence (clause “a” of part 2 of article 282 of the Criminal Code). The case was opened because of stories with the caption “Russian-speaking little bastards, you are dead even when you breathe,” Shot claims.

The musician’s father believes that the new case is “not supported by anything,” and he took it “as some kind of denunciation.» The man doubts that Charlotte himself posted the story: “As I understand it, there was no video, there was an inscription on Instagram that no one saw except the one who made the denunciation.”

On May 30, Charlotte’s detention in the pre-trial detention center was extended; the musician has been in custody since December 2. In addition to the new case under Article 282 of the Criminal Code, he is accused of insulting the feelings of believers (Article 148 of the Criminal Code), damaging documents (Article 325 of the Criminal Code) and two episodes of rehabilitation of Nazism (Part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code).

According to investigators, the musician published videos that “desecrate military glory” and “offend the feelings of believers.” In one of them, he tore up the letter Z, painted in the colors of the St. George ribbon, in the second — “he redid the lyrics of the song "Victory Day" clearly offensive.»

In the third video, the singer ruined his military ID and nailed it to a cross along with a portrait of Patriarch Kirill. In the fourth video, he burns his Russian passport to protest the war in Ukraine.

The musician was detained in November 2023 at Pulkovo airport, where he flew from Yerevan. On the same day, the head of the Safe Internet League, Ekaterina Mizulina, published a video apologizing to the singer.

Initially, the musician was placed under administrative arrest for 13 days under a protocol for petty hooliganism, and after that he was transferred to Samara as part of a criminal case — a preventive measure was chosen for him there. At the meeting, Charlotte said that he “supports the North Military District” and read his own poems: “Russia, I was rude to you right away. I ask forgiveness from the Russian people.»

From the pre-trial detention center, Charlotte wrote a letter to Patriarch Kirill with repentance and a request to forgive him. As Kommersant reported, at the January court hearing, Charlotte also apologized to Vladimir Putin, the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov, Mizulina and singer Yaroslav Dronov (SHAMAN).
