MOSCOW, July 23 The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on the liquidation of the head of the Palestinian Hamas movement, Ashraf Naf, during an operation in the West Bank.
According to the army, the operation using a drone took place in the Tul-Karem area. “Among those killed was Ashraf Nafa, the head of the Hamas branch in the area,” the army press service said. According to her, he was responsible for making explosives intended to attack Israeli soldiers and for recruiting into the ranks of Hamas.
The Israeli army considers him involved in “numerous attacks on IDF soldiers in the West Bank” and suspects him of contacts with Hamas fighters “who organized terrorist attacks in the same area.”
According to the press service, the operation was one of more than 50 military operations in the West Bank, during which soldiers killed several armed radicals and neutralized many explosive devices.
