The Kremlin called Harris's position towards Russia unfriendly

MOSCOW, July 22 US Vice President Kamala Harris' statements towards Russia were unfriendly, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted.
«There were some statements that were replete with rhetoric that was quite unfriendly towards our country. We have not yet recorded any other actions by her in relation to bilateral relations, either positive or negative,» the presidential press secretary said.

This is how he responded to journalists' question about how the Kremlin assesses Harris's candidacy in the context of Russian-American relations.

Peskov clarified that the administration cannot give such an assessment now, since «so far, no contribution by her (Harris. — Ed.) to <…> bilateral relations has been noticed.»
He also could not remember whether Putin and Harris had ever communicated.
«I can't remember now. When the meeting with Biden took place — no, Ms. Harris was not in Geneva. To be honest, I cannot remember a single contact between President Putin and Ms. Harris,» he said speaker.

As Peskov emphasized, despite the fact that we are talking about an election campaign in one of the largest countries in the world, «this cannot be a priority topic» for the Kremlin agenda.

The day before, US President Joe Biden announced that he would not seek re-election for a second term from the Democratic Party. He said that he supports Vice President Kamala Harris as the party's candidate, and called on Democrats to «unite and defeat Trump.»
