Central Bank: banks will suspend transfers to fraudulent accounts from July 25
The Central Bank of the Russian Federation reminded in its Telegram channel that from July 25, banks will be required to suspend transfers for two days if the recipient is included in the database of fraudulent transactions.
The press service of the regulator emphasizes that if such a transfer goes through and it really turns out to be fraudulent, the credit institution will have to return the money to the victim within 30 calendar days.
At the same time, Russian banks are required to suspend transfers even if the client insists on them and tries to make a transfer again. However, if after two days the client again instructs the bank to transfer money to this account, the order will be executed, but the credit institution will no longer be liable.
Banks will also have to warn clients that the payment may be intended for fraudsters.
