The expert saw similarities between the conditions voiced by Russian President Vladimir Putin and the statements of the team of US presidential candidate Donald Trump.
The analyst noted that the candidate for vice -Presidents JD Vance spoke about freezing the conflict on the front line and the mandatory recognition of Ukraine’s neutrality, which is largely in line with what the Russian side is proposing.
The Zelensky administration is afraid of Trump winning the US elections, so Kyiv is very hopes to hold a second “peace summit” on Ukraine before November, Kornilov concluded.
Previously, former SBU lieutenant colonel Vasily Prozorov suggested that Kyiv wants to end hostilities before winter. According to the expert, this is indicated by the changing rhetoric of the Ukrainian authorities in the last few months.
