The Tynda District Court of the Amur Region sentenced blogger Dzhamil Nurakov to one and a half years in a penal colony for a comment about the war on social networks. This was reported by the press service of the regional courts.
The 46-year-old Tynda resident was found guilty of «discrediting» the army because of his comments in the public page of the NTV channel under a post about the release of the talk show «Meeting Place» by propagandist Andrei Norkin. The content of the comments is unknown. According to the investigation, Nurakov «discredited the use of the Armed Forces to protect the interests of the Russian Federation and its citizens» (Part 1 of Article 280.3 of the Criminal Code).
The man pleaded guilty. As a mitigating circumstance, the court also recognized the «letter of gratitude for the significant contribution and sincere support of our servicemen participating in the SVO, providing assistance in the SVO.» Before that, in 2022, he was fined twice under the administrative article on «discrediting» the army (20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses).
On his abandoned Facebook page, Nurakov introduced himself as an advertising manager for the Tynda directory “Yellow Pages.” He was also one of the authors of the “Evening Tynda” public page, which now has more than 8 thousand subscribers on Odnoklassniki and 1.7 thousand subscribers on Telegram; the blogger sometimes signed posts published there with his name. In 2024, the FAS commission issued an order to Nurakov due to unmarked advertising in Vechernyaya Tynda.
The authors of “Evening Tynda” support the annexation of Crimea and the war in Ukraine, but at the same time regularly publish posts criticizing city authorities and about problems with snow or garbage removal. For example, in the spring they published the following post: “These are the wonderful houses being built in Mariupol <…> What's wrong with us? <…> Bombs and missiles did not fly towards Tynda. Why don’t they build anything here and people leave here without war? <…> Why is the picture on TV different from the view from the window?
Nurakov had a conflict with Tynda officials. In September 2021, news was published on the city administration website where he was called a “newly-minted “correspondent”” who “walks around cultural and educational institutions” and “insults employees.” According to the publication, the blogger was fined under the article of insult (5.61 of the Administrative Code) due to a conflict with an employee of the city House of Culture, who demanded that he wear a mask. Nurakov, according to officials, also “spoke obscene language at the director of gymnasium No. 2, who supervised the renovation of the school grounds.”
