A court in St. Petersburg sent a pensioner suspected of setting fire to a military registration and enlistment office for a psychiatric examination

The Primorsky District Court of St. Petersburg sent Vasily Gogolev, a suspect in the arson of the military registration and enlistment office, for a psychiatric examination. Mediazona was informed about this by the press service of the court.

The man will spend 30 days in hospital at a “medical organization providing psychiatric care.” Where exactly is not specified.

A criminal case was opened against Gogolev for a terrorist attack (Part 1 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code). As Mash on the Moika and Fontanka reported, a 76-year-old pensioner threw a Molotov cocktail at the door of the Primorsky district military registration and enlistment office. This happened on the afternoon of Saturday, July 19th.

In the video footage published by the publications, a burning bottle falls on the porch of the building. After the throw, the man probably wanted to pick it up and throw it towards the door again, but he did not dare and left with the package in his hands.

According to the authors of “Mash on the Moika”, scammers stole money from a pensioner and said that they would return it if he set fire to the military registration and enlistment office. As Fontanka wrote, a total of 350 thousand rubles were defrauded from Gogolev.
