Instead of TIN, it will be possible to write ERN
The Federal Tax Service of Russia has proposed changing the rules for filling out the personal income tax return (Form 3-NDFL), as well as documents that give the right to tax deductions. Public discussion of the draft relevant orders of the Ministry of Finance has begun on the portal of regulatory legal acts.
The most important change is the ability to indicate in the document, instead of the TIN (taxpayer identification number), your ERN (unified registration number). Let us remind you that since the beginning of 2023, the Unified Population Register has been in effect in Russia. It contains data on Russian citizens from various departments. The register operator is the Federal Tax Service of Russia.
By the way, you don’t have to write your TIN to the tax office now. To do this, the taxpayer must indicate their personal data, date of birth, and information about the identity document. In addition, the column on the taxpayer’s place of birth will disappear from the new documents.
The order on Form 3-NDFL should come into force two months after the date of its official publication, but not earlier than January 1 of the following year. The time of entry into force of the order on documents entitling to tax deductions is more specific — January 1.
