ISTANBUL, July 25 Yevgeny Serebryakov, a defendant in the case of a car bombing in the north of Moscow, detained in Turkish Bodrum, could be planning to escape to Greece, the Turkish state television channel TRT Haber reported .
“It has been established that the terrorist arrived in Bodrum, planning to get to Greece with the help of the organizers of illegal migration,” the material states.

At the same time, it is noted that Serebryakov’s connection with the smugglers has not been verified. It is believed that the detainee planned to purchase a boat to escape to a neighboring country.

According to the channel, Turkish security forces, after receiving information from Russian colleagues about the search for Serebryakov, tracked his location using cameras at Bodrum Airport and established that he had rented a car. The car was followed for 50 kilometers, after which the attacker was detained.
The day before, a person involved in a car bombing case in Moscow was detained in Bodrum. Turkish media later clarified that another person was detained along with the Russian, his name was not specified. Serebryakov entered Turkey as a tourist; at that time he was not on the wanted list, a source in the Turkish Ministry of Internal Affairs said the day before.

The court hearing to decide on the preliminary arrest of the Russian will take place in Bodrum on Thursday. The issues related to the detainee are being discussed by law enforcement agencies in Russia and Turkey.
On Wednesday morning, two people were injured in a car explosion in the courtyard of a house on Sinyavinskaya Street in northern Moscow. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, an unidentified object placed in a car detonated. The case was transferred to the 1st Directorate for Investigation of Particularly Important Cases of the Investigative Committee's capital headquarters. The Zamoskvoretsky Court reported that Serebryakov, a defendant in the Moscow car bombing case, was charged in absentia.
