MVD: those accused of preparing a terrorist attack at Sheremetyevo Airport were promised $3,000
The defendants in the preparation of the terrorist attack at Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport were promised a payment of $3,000, which was to be received from Ukraine, law enforcement agencies reported. According to the source, the promised amount was never delivered to the addressees, RIA Novosti reports.
At a hearing in the Second Western District Military Court on Wednesday, the state prosecution requested 28 years in prison for Mikhail Darius and 21 years for Ilya Kovylkov, accused of preparing the terrorist attack at Sheremetyevo. The prosecutor proposed that Darius spend the first 5 years and Kovylkov spend the first 3 years in prison, and the remainder of the term in a maximum security penal colony. A fine of 1.5 million rubles was also requested for each of them.
The investigation established that the defendants planned to blow up fuel tanks at the central filling station of Sheremetyevo Airport in order to destabilize the situation in the country and were engaged in terrorist propaganda through a Telegram channel. In addition, it was found that Kovylkov and Darius acted under the direction of the Ukrainian special services.
