MOSCOW, July 25 China is ready to cooperate with Russia to support each other in ensuring their core interests, Xinhua reports citing Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
«China is ready to cooperate with Russia to resolutely support each other in ensuring their core interests, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi said on Thursday at a meeting with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov,» the agency's publication says.
As the agency notes, the head of the Chinese Foreign Ministry noted that in the face of an «unstable and complex international situation,» China is ready to cooperate with the Russian Federation in order to preserve the original desire for eternal good-neighborliness and friendship.
According to the agency, the heads of the Foreign Ministries and the People's Republic of China expressed their desire to strengthen cooperation within the framework of international mechanisms such as the SCO and BRICS.
Earlier, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Sergei Lavrov, at a meeting with Wang Yi, expressed gratitude to China for its position on Ukraine, welcomed Beijing's initiatives to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, and the parties also discussed the prospects for implementing the concept of creating a new security architecture in Eurasia.
