KHARKIV REGION, July 26. UAV operators of the 13th Tank Regiment of the 4th Tank Division of the 1st Tank Army of the «West» group of forces are constantly comprehensively modifying FPV drones right in the area of the special military operation, said a UAV technician of the group with the call sign «Amur».
«We are redesigning kamikaze drones for drops, ultimately increasing the efficiency of the drone. That is, instead of it flying off in one flight and exploding, it flies to perform its task, drops on enemy objects, territories and flies back. After which we can load it again and fly on. That is, the efficiency of the drone increases from flight to flight,» Amur said.

FPV drone operators and technicians of the 13th Tank Regiment have equipped a field workshop with all the necessary equipment for assembling, modifying and configuring various kamikaze drones.

The senior UAV operator with the call sign «Mayak» showed the detachment's workshop and emphasized that much depends not only on the technical equipment, but also on the intelligence of the technicians, on their ability to think quickly and work around the clock.
«This is where our technicians do all their work. All the tools are here. There is downed trophy equipment (Ukrainian drones — ed.). History is being made here. This is a workshop-class in common parlance in military terms. There are such classes in almost every regiment. Now the topic of unmanned aviation is developing at a gigantic pace, respectively… The very goal of the workshop is to increase the efficiency of our flights, our «birds» and our work, to increase efficiency. Here are all the devices, all the tools. And the main thing is that people with brains: engineers, technicians who work day and night for the benefit of our unit. Everything we need, we can do. Accordingly, the way our technicians' brains work, that's how we do it. Everything depends on them. So they came up with an idea, to try this, to do that, we take it and do it,» the agency's interlocutor emphasized.

In addition to modifying FPV drones for airdrops, technicians are also converting drone radio transmitters to offset frequencies to counter enemy electronic warfare systems.
«Now we have reached the level where we completely reflash the standard antennas that come to us to our required frequencies. Of course, we will not name the frequencies themselves for our own safety. After the firmware, the drone's efficiency increases, and we can fly towards the enemy, where we would have been jammed by their electronic warfare systems if we had not reflashed them and were flying at standard frequencies,» Mayak summed up.
