MOSCOW, July 25 Moscow's Spartak announced on its official website the transfer of Argentine midfielder Ezequiel Barco from the River Plate football club.
The contract with the 25-year-old midfielder is for three years. According to media reports, the transfer amount was about 16 million euros. For Spartak, Barco will play under the number five.
Barco previously played for the Argentine Independiente and the North American Major League Soccer (MLS) club Atlanta United.
In 2024, he played 28 official matches for River Plate, in which he scored two goals. In total, Barco played 127 matches for River Plate, scored 17 goals and made 19 assists. He became the champion of Argentina and the winner of the Super Cup of the country. For Atlanta, the Argentine played 107 matches, scored 19 goals and made 18 assists. As part of Independiente, Barco won the Copa Sudamericana (the second-highest club trophy in South America), played 57 matches (eight goals, seven assists).
