The man was sued, proving that the charges were false
The President of the Central Research Institute «Volna» was injured as a result of a certain action that took place on Friday afternoon on Red Square. 74-year-old Vladimir Arsenyev could have arranged it as a protest against accusations of disrupting the state defense order.
As MK learned, in 2023 Arsenyev was accused of deliberately disrupting supplies for defense needs. The Rostec concern received a complaint according to which the management of the Central Research Institute, having entered into a conspiracy, deliberately delayed the supply of necessary products for the needs of the Northern Military District as part of the state defense order. Arsenyev was also charged with theft of working documentation for products from another enterprise. As a result, an inspection by the Federal Security Service was assigned to the Central Research Institute. The preliminary results of the inspection did not confirm the accusation. Arsenyev filed a defamation claim against the complainant, which was rejected. In turn, the author of the complaint filed a counterclaim, the case is now being considered in the Nagatinsky court.
It is not yet clear whether Arsenyev wanted to harm himself or whether today’s action was organized as a sign of protest in connection with the problems of the institute. The man received minor burns.
Arsenyev is a retired military man, a reserve captain, and has awards, including the title of honorary signalman.
