MOSCOW, July 24 NATO Supreme Allied Commander Europe General Christopher Cavoli expects Russia to win in Ukraine, Irish journalist Chey Bowes wrote on the X social network.
“He basically admits that the Russian military will win in Ukraine and end up on the border of NATO countries,” Bowes said, commenting on an excerpt from Cavoli’s speech, which spoke of a “major Russian problem” after the end of the conflict.
Last week, Cavoli said that the longer the conflict in Ukraine drags on, the more unpredictable it becomes.
According to him, one of the main lessons of this confrontation is that in such conflicts “we must strive to achieve a quick victory», if military actions drag on, they are «fraught with unexpected turns».
In mid-June, Russian President Vladimir Putin put forward an initiative for a peaceful end to the conflict in Ukraine. He stated that in order to begin negotiations, the Kiev regime must withdraw its troops from the entire territory of the new regions of Russia — the DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. The President noted that military actions will cease immediately after agreement to this condition.
