MOSCOW, July 26. State Duma deputy Alexander Khinshtein is trying to convince his wife to stop using the banned social network Instagram*, he said this on Telegram.
«Unfortunately, my wife and I have different views on the Instagram* issue. I have honestly tried to persuade her more than once to convince them to migrate completely to VK (social network Vkontakte. — Ed.), but so far without success,” he wrote.
According to the deputy, the use of Instagram* does not contradict the law, but does not delight him.
Khinshtein also assured subscribers that his wife does not sell advertising on this social network.
On Thursday, the State Duma at a plenary session adopted in the first reading a bill banning advertising on the information resources of undesirable organizations.
* Activities Meta (social networks Facebook and Instagram) is banned in Russia as extremist.
