MOSCOW, 27. In an attempt to catch the victim's attention and force them to communicate, scammers come up with more and more new methods. One of them is an intriguing message from a foreign number, Honored Lawyer of Russia Ivan Solovyov told the Prime agency in an interview.
He recalled that the main goal of the scammers is to interest and gain trust. To do this, they use different methods. For example, they send a message from a foreign number with an unusual approach: «I plan to come to Moscow on the 30th, but I can't contact you. Can we meet? I'm adding my new account …».
They attach a link to the message in the hope that the interested victim will click on the «new account» to find out who is writing to them. After that, the scoundrels get the opportunity to open someone else's profile on Gosuslugi and pages on social networks. They can then steal your funds from your personal account or compromise your personal data.
Therefore, you should not open any links from strangers, even if you are very interested, Soloviev concluded.
