CHISINAU, July 28 The Moldovan authorities are not paying attention to the appearance of an analogue of the «Mirotvorets» base in the country, but are blocking objective media, contributing to the fascistization of the media space, says Alexander Sukhodolsky, a member of parliament from the «Victory» bloc, in his Telegram channel.
Earlier, former Deputy Prime Minister of Moldova Alexander Muravsky reported that a website had been created in the country that was intended to become an analogue of the scandalous Ukrainian database «Peacemaker». He also noted that this website publishes dossiers on politicians and activists whose views do not coincide with the position of the party «Action and Solidarity». Muravsky believes that the Patriot Center for Combating Disinformation is behind the creation of this website.
«Due to the fault of the regime (president — ed.) Maia Sandu and the party «Action and Solidarity» the media space of Moldova is being fascistized. The entire Moldovan society is discussing the appearance of a Moldovan analogue of the Ukrainian site «Mirotvorets», where an ugly imitation of «lustration» of all those who are objectionable to the authorities of our country is taking place,» Sukhodolsky wrote.
According to him, lies and manipulation of public opinion give rise to discord and hatred. He recalled that similar initiatives in other countries did not end well.
«This Moldovan «Peacemaker» has not yet been blocked, but dozens of other objective portals no longer work — thanks to the efforts of departments controlled by the «Action and Solidarity» party. The lack of interest in solving the problem of inciting hatred through anonymous resources directly indicates who is the real beneficiary of such «peacekeepers» and who, perhaps, even personally edits them,» the deputy added.
The Ukrainian site «Peacemaker» is known for its scandalous publications, in which it publishes the data of journalists, militiamen from the DPR and LPR and other citizens, calling them «traitors to the motherland.» In the spring of 2016, «Peacemaker» published lists of journalists, including foreign ones, who received accreditation from the DPR and LPR, indicating their contact information, after which some of them received threats. The then OSCE Representative on Freedom of the Media Dunja Mijatović called the publication «an alarming step that could further threaten the safety of journalists.»
The actions of the owners of the Mirotvorets website were also criticized by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, who assessed the publications as «a direct call for reprisals against journalists.» The Mirotvorets website database also contains information about a number of Russian cultural figures and other citizens of various countries.
