MOSCOW, July 27 A Su-34 fighter jet of the Russian Aerospace Forces crashed in the Volgograd region, the crew managed to eject, the Defense Ministry reported.
«In the Volgograd region, while performing a scheduled A Su-34 aircraft crashed during a training flight. The crew ejected; there is no threat to the pilots' lives,» the statement said.
It is specified that the fighter crashed in an uninhabited area. The flight was carried out without ammunition. There was no damage on the ground.
The preliminary cause of the emergency is a technical malfunction, the defense department indicated.
A commission of the Russian Aerospace Forces is currently working on the site.
